Job Description – Consultant

Title:                        Consultant

Reports to:             Senior consultant  or associate director

Based at:                 Uppermill

Salary Band:           Dependant on experience

Job purpose:

Handle and deliver work on client accounts.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor execution of pr plans for clients
  • Manage day to day activities on client accounts
  • Write press releases, features, advertorials etc
  • Find opportunities for client publicity on an ongoing basis
  • Communicate with client and team using appropriate media such as status reports, review meetings etc
  • Manage junior staff, associates and suppliers
  • Effectively monitor own performance to achieve goals
  • Provide clear, timely and accurate information and advice to clients, senior consultants and managing director
  • Develop partnerships and effective relationships
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers and attend meetings where necessary
  • Maintain cpd by attending externally organised conferences and seminars where appropriate and through monitoring publications, reports, websites etc as necessary
  • Keep abreast of client issues in the media through monitoring publications, websites etc
  • Seek client feedback
  • Develop and support new business pitches/credential presentations
  • Contribute towards the recruitment and development of junior staff

Person Specification Essential to Role

  • Minimum 2 years professional and relevant experience
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects to time and budget
  • Experienced in communicating to a wide range of audiences through a range of media
  • Skilled writer familiar with design, print and production processes
  • Computer literate, including word, excel, PowerPoint and the internet
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home as required
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
