Waste management roundtable

To mark the tenth anniversary of the launch of Recycle Now, Pelican Communications commissioned research to find out what effect a decade of promoting household recycling has had on consumer behaviour.

It revealed that over 95% of consumers say they now actively recycle household items such as packaging as part of the waste management initiative.

However, after a decade of Recycle Now, England’s recycling rate has only reached 43.5%, whilst in Scotland rates have climbed to 42.2%.

Inspired by environmental PR company Pelican’s research, Materials Recycling World organised a roundtable debate of industry leaders to discuss where the industry may be in another 10 years.

The event, which was sponsored by leading waste management company FCC Environment, featured many leading industry figures.

To hear the experts’ predictions for the decade ahead take a look at this summary video of the event.
