Pelican Communications has appointed two of the North West’s leading communications professionals.
Jessica Beckett, 30, joins the company from the Trinity Mirror having worked in senior roles within the Manchester Evening News group of titles for more than seven years.
Originally from Rochdale, Jessica has a wealth of journalism and management experience having served as both a reporter and deputy news editor.
She will work across a number of key food, foodservice and logistics accounts, managing a small team of consultants.
Joe Robinson, also 30, joins the company and brings with him a wide range of experience having worked as a communications officer for Blackpool Council, in parliamentary communications for a leading Member of Parliament and in journalism at both The Gazette, Blackpool’s local newspaper, and at BBC Radio 4.
Born in Oldham, Joe will work across a number of key food, packaging and environmental sector accounts.
Both are expected to help drive the business and will play a key role in winning new accounts and assisting junior team members.

Pelican Communications was created by former newspaper editor, Michael Bennett, after more than a decade of experience with major consultancies.
The company specialise in the food, foodservice, packaging, environment and outdoor sectors.
Current clients include the likes of Tate & Lyle, View Ranger, FCC Environment and the British Metals Recycling Association and, in the past, the company has worked with top names like McCain, Findus and Cadbury.
