Refreshing the BAMA brand

Design

Summary

We undertook a complete brand refresh for the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) deploying the new graphic style across a suite of print and digital publications to create a fresh new look for the leading trade association.

Tell me more

Established in 1961, the British Aerosol Manufacturers’ Association (BAMA) represents the aerosol industry, from suppliers of components and ingredients to fillers and marketers of aerosol products.

They briefed us to build a suite of communications templates, refresh their logo and redesign a suite of literature.

The Pelican approach

Working in partnership with BAMA our design team developed a more contemporary and professional appearance for the association, as well as creating consistency throughout the Association’s communication channels.

Inspired by the original BAMA logo, we created a new colour palette and design. The dynamic use of circles and colour gradients delivered a distinctive yet flexible contemporary visual system.

With a colour palette and style agreed, Pelican set to work creating formal brand guidelines which underpin all communications activity now undertaken by BAMA. The guidelines provide consistency and strengthen perception of the association as a professional organisation, a key factor in attracting new and retaining existing members.

At the same time, the Pelican design team created a suite of communications templates, including member publications, reports, adverts, letterheads, presentations and press releases. We also redesigned BAMA’s membership benefits brochure, its quarterly member magazine Aerosol Focus, and created an Innovation in Aerosols brochure, designed to showcase innovation across the industry.

The results

The redesigned logo, brand guidelines and communications templates have been adopted by BAMA, creating synergy across all its communications channels and providing consistent visual language, reinforcing brand values to a diverse audience. The guidelines are also set to form the basis for the BAMA website restructure.

The new look has been welcomed with positive feedback from the Association’s members as well as the BAMA team.

Don’t just take our word for it…

“The Pelican team was extremely thorough in its approach, explaining the rationale for each element of the brand refresh and adding value throughout the project.” Tiziana Dorigo, BAMA membership and communications manager
