Markem-Imaje is a trusted world manufacturer of product identification and traceability solutions, offering a full line of reliable and innovative inkjet, thermal transfer, laser, and print and apply label systems.
As part of a Europe-wide PR campaign, the company briefed Pelican to create a series of engaging case studies that could be used to showcase the company’s industry leading coding and marking solutions as well as the bespoke service provided for customers in a diverse range of markets, from the food and beverage sector to the extrusion industry.
The Pelican approach
Set in busy factories and manufacturing sites, the films provided credible and engaging insight into the use of coding and marking equipment in highly pressurised environments as well as illustrating the bespoke solutions created for individual customers.
Working closely with Markem-Imaje customers, we managed filming on location with minimal impact on day-to-day operations, and interviewed senior personnel to capture the customer perspective, highlighting what was important to them and how Markem-Imaje had helped them to improve operational efficiency.
The Pelican team worked with Polypipe, a leading European manufacturer of plastic pipe systems for residential, commercial and infrastructure sectors as well as general building products. They required codes to be printed only on the raised section of its corrugated pipes. The film illustrated new software solution developed by Markem-Imaje that could provide this functionality while allowing for contraction and expansion of the pipe due to temperature changes or the cutting process further down the line.
The second film showcased Markem-Imaje’s partnership with Foam Extra, a manufacturer of high-quality polystyrene boxes designed to transport fish including salmon and other premium fresh food products. The film captured extensive footage of a new coding solution that had been launched specifically for the food industry as well as the bespoke service package which removed the need for capital expenditure.
The third film in the series focused on the relationship between Markem-Imaje and PP Control & Automation, a leader in the provision of control & automation solutions to some of the world’s most successful electrical machinery builders.
Clearly showing the high print quality and reliability of Markem-Imaje coding solutions, interviews with senior personnel also highlighted how Markem-Imaje had been able to provide wider assistance, providing expert guidance to help ensure their customers did not fall foul of complex regulations throughout increasingly complex supply chains.
The case studies produced have been used extensively as part of Markem-Imaje’s global marketing campaigns and to support individual sales managers in all regions present more effectively to new prospects.
In addition to providing engaging new content for the company’s website, the series of films have been shown at tradeshows across the EMEA region and continue to be used internally to reinforce the company’s vision and values.
