About us

Why Pelican?

It’s not big bills! The Pelican has traditionally been associated with commitment and devotion. Values that remain central to our philosophy of driving brilliant results for our clients.

Pelican was founded over 20 years ago by former newspaper editor Michael Bennett, who recognised the need for a specialist communications agency dedicated to the needs of food and sustainability organisations

Since then, we’ve advised many of the top names in the food supply chain and sustainability sector. Working nationally and internationally, our team is made up of marketing and public relations professionals, former journalists, social media specialists, people development consultants and graphic designers. Each is an expert in their field, who over the course of their careers have advised many leading organisations. As specialists in food and sustainability, we understand that it’s vital that businesses deliver a sustainable ‘circular’ future. And just as importantly, let consumers know they’re doing it.

The Pelican Path

We believe that without a clear strategy everybody gets lost. So, we develop a communications strategy first.

We work to a proven methodology: ‘The Pelican Path’ which ensures that the campaign we create and deliver is directly aligned with the strategy. This five steps process can be summarised as: Probing, Planning, Production, Promotion & Perception.

Why you need us

More and more of your customers want to make positive choices about the brands they buy and informed decisions when they dispose of ‘stuff’. With food and recycling both having arguably the greatest impact on the environment and public health, these are two areas that mean the most to them.

It’s safe to say that your green credentials have never meant so much to so many. And why they need to be effectively communicated so that customers know they’re making the right choices to help them do their bit for the planet.

Businesses that best communicate what they’re doing for the good of all will be the ones that do well and prosper. The opportunity is huge. In fact, McKinsey estimates that adopting circular-economy principles could not only benefit Europe environmentally and socially but could also generate a net economic benefit of €1.8 trillion by 2030.

Whether you work in food production, logistics, packaging, food retail or foodservice, resource management or a trade association, with the support of our marketing communications and PR experts, we’ll tell your sustainability story effectively, with a happy ending for both your business and the environment.
